Founded in 1925 in the State of New York, the Society of Foreign Consuls (SOFC) stands as the world’s largest consular corps in New York City. As Consul General of Georgia and President of the SOFC, I am deeply honored to lead this distinguished organization based in this great city, particularly during the momentous occasion of its 100th anniversary. Presiding over the SOFC at this historic milestone carries profound significance and responsibility, as we reflect on a century of service and chart the course for a future of continued global impact.

As such, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to all members who have dedicated their time to ensure the success of our organization, in line with its goals and objectives.

Our mission—to safeguard the interests and rights of our citizens and to promote cultural and economic ties between our respective countries and our host, the United States of America—remains as relevant and vital today as it was a century ago.

During my presidency, we will strive to strengthen the SOFC as a platform for global cooperation. We will work diligently to promote the culture, economy, and tourism potential of SOFC member countries in New York City and support their interests. Additionally, we will deepen our collaboration with the NYC Mayor’s Office for International Affairs and the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Foreign Missions on key issues such as consular access, diplomatic security, and immigration procedures.
